Private Pay at HealWell
We are a private-pay practice, which means we do not bill insurance directly.
We know that can bring up questions, especially if you’ve used insurance for therapy before. It’s completely fair to wonder why—and whether it’s worth it.
Why We Don't Take InsuranceÂ
Choosing not to work directly with insurance allows us to keep therapy focused on you—not on a diagnosis, limitations, or outside requirements.

Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis, determine how long you can stay in therapy, and may limit the type of care you receive. For some people, that works. For others, it can feel restrictive.

We want your care to be guided by your needs—not by a system.

Out-Of-Network Benefits
If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, you may still be able to receive partial reimbursement.

We can provide a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend calling your provider to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Sliding Scale & Accessibility
We offer clear, upfront rates so you know what to expect before starting. You’ll see your exact fee before you book, and we’re happy to talk through options so cost doesn’t stand in the way of getting support. Sliding scale is offered for a select number of clients while they are still available.Â
